Inspired by a range of teachers from different schools of yoga, I teach a gently flowing style of Hatha yoga that combines an emphasis on breath and physical awareness with an invitation to get to know ourselves a bit better, inside and out.
Yoga is an ongoing experience rather than a set of poses or techniques to tick off as learned. I structure group classes around a theme, whether that’s a particular foundational element, a strand of yoga philosophy, the time of year or perhaps a particular part of the body. The theme develops over approximately 4 week cycles, giving opportunity for learning, repetition and understanding your own body.
If you’re a beginner, you’re very welcome in all classes. Tuesday morning classes offer an opportunity to be in a smaller group with newer yogis and run on a half termly, 4-6 week course basis. Wednesday evening classes are mixed level with plenty of options to make sure the class is accessible for everyone. They run on a drop in basis. Taking a few private classes can also be a great way to learn the basics before going on to join a group class.
